Welcome to the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies! As head of the department, I believe understanding the relationship between humans and the environment is vital. We're committed to teaching students everything they need to know about the Earth's landscapes, both physical and cultural, and how human actions impact them.

Through critical thinking, interdisciplinary research, and hands-on fieldwork, our students learn to tackle pressing environmental challenges. We prepare them to become informed global citizens who can contribute to sustainable development and conservation efforts.

We care deeply about environmental stewardship, social justice, and building resilience in the face of climate change and resource management. We inspire our students to feel responsible and empowered, encouraging them to protect and preserve our planet.

Our faculty and students delve into pressing environmental issues like climate change, vulnerable communities, and sustainable development. Through research, fieldwork, and collaboration, we've contributed valuable insights and solutions, from climate resilience plans to cleaner air and water. We actively work with communities to promote conservation, resilience, and social equity. We create sustainable development plans, implement innovative solutions, and raise awareness through education and outreach programs.
